POLAND – UNITED CUP Champions!!

H. HURKACZ & I. SWIATEK (one of best women on WTA tour) were theoretically favourites again in UNITED CUP 2026. Reaching Final last 2 years was not enough for them. This time they had to rely heavily on Mixed Doubles. Representing POLAND: J. Zielinski & K. Kawa and also Switzerland’s J. Paul & B. Bencic won all their matches previously and B. Bencic for her perfect (5-0) score in singles was voted United Cup Most Valuable Player. She beat I. Swiatek in singles final. POLAND’s J. Zielinski & K. Kawa won 6-3 6-4 proving third time a charm was successful. Hubert Hurkacz made impressive comeback from 7 months injury. He was key player in Polish Team winning matches with: A. ZVEREV & T. FRITZ (both top 10 on ATP Tour), T. Griekspoor and with S. Wawrinka (Former multiple Grand Slam champion) in the Final. “Hubi” is only ATP #83 due his injury inactivity. We are sure that if he stays healthy, he will be back to top 20 soon. Just In 2022 he was ATP #6, so he has huge potential. Unlike in ATP ratings our ELO ratings don’t penalize players if they don’t play for months. Hurkacz is already our TenELOs Current ELO #7 after his good result this week. He will be dangerous opponent players will try to avoid in first rounds of AUSTRALIAN OPEN.
