In ATP rankings Sinner with 11400 ATP points is #2, trailing Alcaraz #1 with 13550 ATP points. Sinner did not compete in last year INDIAN WELLS, Miami, Monte Carlo – all 1000 master’s tournaments, so he can only improve his ATP ratings in next few months. By winning INDIAN WELLS (his last remaining missing big title on HARD courts) he put extra pressure on Alcaraz in ATP race, however in our TenELOs CURRENT ratings he surpassed ALCARAZ already for #1. Our CURRENT ratings are more sensitive to latest results (last 10 matches played). Alcaraz lost to Medvedev and Sinner won latest tournament so now there are changes in top ratings. Medvedev now tops our Hot performance list by winning Dubai (500) and reaching Indian Wells (1000) final. By reaching Final, Medvedev moved from CURRENT #10 to #4 this week. If he would beat Sinner in the Indian Wells final he would claim CURRENT #1 Rating.
According to our PREDICTOR Sinner was only slightly favourite to win Indian Wells final by 1 game. In reality he won 2 tiebreaks 7-6, 7-6… by 2 games. I already wrote when Predictor doesn’t show clear winner it’s good idea to bet Handicaps. Since I was sure that it’s going to be very close match because of Medvedev fine form my bet was Medvedev (+4.5 games) which paid (1.66) a lot better than betting on Sinner win.
This week Quinn Ethan (just turned 22) won biggest tournament of his career (Phoenix Ch-175). He is ranked #56 (his best) in ATP and #52 on our TenELOs Current weekly ratings. He is making steady progress, so we expect him to improve his rankings in near future.
